Worst Total War game in the series hands down...
But Rome Total war 2 was really disappointing. Whoever is giving this game more than a 6 has either been payed to, or has never played a Total War game in there life. Also its really easy to win awards for best strategy game when your pretty much like the only strategy game made this year, all Im saying.
The only better thing about the campaign mode in this game is it looks better. For every one thing that is better in the game though like ten other things are alot worse. Like how few buildings you can actually build, how they made the cities, taxes, food, the new lame squalor system and most if not everything else worse lame etc etc. Dont like how few armies you can make now. You can't have single units leave the armies to defend your cities or go join another army without the rest of the army or general with it, also lame. The really lame units and building pictures to, and I thought the shogun 2 unit pictures were crappy this one is way worse. I could go on but I dont want to make this to long.
The battles are really terrible in this game. While they look good, and I do like how they have the ships able to drop men off or support your troops somewhat in the battles. For every one thing better ten things are worse. While the battles do look good, I thought they would look better and I upgraded my computer just for this game so its not my computer thats the problem. The AI of course is dumb, but some how way dumber than the old TW games, dont understand that. The battles take about three seconds once you spend about half an hour marching your guys to the enemy. Someone breaks and runs in about two seconds and they kill or capture people so fast that u dont even get to look at the action going on. What happened to the stand ground command so dumb they took that out, so your dudes wont stay put when u want them too. They took some other commands out that were really dumb too. Only main cities have walls to actually have a siege with too so dumb. Your dudes for some reason cant climb city walls anymore either and it lets u go to battle with no siege engines, so all your guys can do is burn the door down and its hard to even get yours guys to do that. Man I could go on and on.
There are many other problems in this game, hopefully some they can fix and the game isnt all bad. It also doesn't help that there are like no good strategy games being made right now so maybe they thought strategy fans would just take what they could get with this game, which to be fair isnt all bad. But I was so disapointed in this game that I wanted to write this.
I would say to anyone thinking about buying this game not to bother unless u can get it for free or at the most 20 bucks.. I want my 60 bucks back personally and Im not buying anymore games without playing a demo of the game first. I have lost my faith in these greedy companies making these games anymore, that only care about money and not making a descent product. The old TW games were way better. For 60 bucks these games need to be alot better and my DLC didn't even work for this game.....
