Torchlight CAN hold a candle to some of the titans of PC gaming.
Torchlight's graphics are great for it's strikingly low requirements. The best part is, they aren't bad because of the simple fact that they are deliberately cartoony.
The game offers Three (3) different initial classes. There's a warrior, mage, and a rogue. The warrior is a bulky man, the mage is a skinny nerd, and the rogue is a sexy woman. Now, that doesn't sound like much, but believe me you that there is a ton of depth in the leveling system. There are tons of equipabbles, and a ton of things to discover.
I was initially disappointed when I found out that a lot of the game spawns from the town of 'Torchlight' but then again the game isn't exactly an adventure game. The dungeons are the star. I personally think the "mage" is the best character for this game, because of the minions and various companions you can create. The dungeons are nicely done, and random enough for you to play multiple times.
While not a huge or massive title, Torchlight is a fun romp through a world that has lots of potential.
