- The Bottom Line:
- "Surprisingly good"
Initially, when I put the disc in I had lower expectations, but after a few hours and learning the controls, it has some very solid gameplay, excellent one move of the right stick for barrel rolls and in your face action. Although Hardlock mimics AC: Assault Horizons DFM. Top Gun utilizes timed maneuvers with the thumb sticks that gain you extra points. The graphics are a bit grainy and some transitions between mission areas are little buggy. Love the braking, feels more realistic than most sims, as well as afterburner. Once you engage in afterburner, it transitions into supersonic, which is a thrill. There is a strange triangular camera view that shows your enemies when you make the kill which can be distracting, not sure why this was put it, but overall a solid game. My only BIG complaint is no campaign coop. Multiplayer modes are fun, when you can find people online and its hard to find the coop missions. I only have one question, how the hell do you unlock the other planes?
