So is Tony Hawk's new game for the Psp worth it? Read on and find out.
You get a goal, You go complete the goal and then you get a reward in some shape or form, whilst meeting some of the pros along the way. While this is fun and all, it still feels old and it does not do anything new for the Tony Hawk genre.
The graphics are good. There are some minor glitches in the character models, for example, if you choose the emo hairstyle and then for instance, choose a pair of glasses or a hat, the hair goes right through it. As small as this sounds, it can become extremely frustrating considering you are staring at your character for the entire game.
There is no real story to Project 8. But you usually don't care about the story in a Tony Hawk game, at least i don't.
One thing that annoys me is the lack of pedestrians. It would have been nice to see some other skaters besides yourself. You will feel very lonely at times.
Another thing, Some of the levels are really bad. There is a level called the "Car Factory". This level is so terribly designed Imo. It is so easy to get lost.
There is a "Classic" mode thrown in for all you hardcore Tony Hawk fans out there. If you have played any of the original Tony Hawks on the Playstation 1 then you would know what this is. It features Levels from Tony Hawk 1 such as "The Mall" And "Chicago" .. It also features levels from Tony Hawk 2 and 3 etc.. You cannot play the "Classic" levels in Free skate. That pissed me off because alot off the story levels suck. You can also play "Classic Mode" In the story levels.
So overall, Is Tony Hawks Project 8 worth buying? In short, No.
If you really need to buy a Tony Hawk game for the psp, I recommend THUG 2 Remix. It really is a better game in general.
So overall i would give this game a healthy 7.5
