tony hawks american wasteland is the seventh game of the tony hawks series and one of the best on the playstation 2.The idea of the game is a bit like skate 3 but has a lot of diffrent features such as the all new BMX controls which are diffrent but much easier to use combos like double tailwhip, x up.there are diffrent areas which are all connected together however you have to walk through a huge hallway to get to the another area, however there is a bus on the connected areas and is much simpler to get somewhere else but you must be walking to do that and cannot take your bike.another good featire to this game is tagging in where you spray graffiti on walls or ground or you can help someone called mornhat tag his graffti for $20.there are thousands of new tricks such as the caveman, spine transfer, frontflip, backflip, tailwhip(bmx only).there is another mode called classic mode in where you have a tony hawk pro skater challenges in where you can unlock areas such as minneaplois and santa cruz.apart from story mode and classic mode there is a free play mode which is also a good mode where it is just like story mode expect you have to change areas by the options menu by pressing start (you can only ride BMXs on story mode areas e.g. hollywood and not classic mode areas e.g. minneapolis downtown and you cannot have 24 hour time like on story mode.) There will be 3-4 shops in each story mode area, a clothes shop, a skateboard shop, a barbers and a blip shop (shoes are sold at the skateboard shop and hats are sold at the bling shop.)i would rate this game a 10 because it is one of the best skating games and would defintantly recomend to addicted skating gamers.
