User Rating: 6 | Tonic Trouble N64
Ed, the main character has accidentally dropped a can of tonic from his mother ship in the hands of a viking named Grogh, the world is now doomed and this tonic has some negative side effects on earth such as the vegetables have now established a headquaters (the tonic also allowed them to move freely and do whatever they want) also the water on earth has changed from colorless to rainbow . With these types of problems on earth ,agent XYZ has orded Ed to clear the mess. The game begins on a snowy mountain where collectable items such as the antidote and thermometers are up for grabs. Later Ed comes to the south plain where most of the worlds are located. But just like many action adventure games mini rescue missions are to be taken care of first. In this case a science genius the Doc has been held captive by his own inventions. Ed's first task is to rescue the doctor , furthermore other features such as popcorn allows Ed to transform into a super sized Ed for a short period of time. Upon rescuing him, Ed comes across his very first weapon: the stick. The Doc unvails his plans to help Ed with one of his inventions but it requires 6 sets of 5 essential items, which the game is primarily based upon. Ed has to go through many worlds such as the Vegetable Headquters or the reserved Pyramid to name a few. Other characters found in the game are agent XYZ and Suzie who assist Ed in his mission when the need arises. Such as teaching him new techniques to combat aganist Groghs hanchman. The game generally goes this way until it is slowed down by the Magic Mushroom.Overall The game isn't that bad. From its original storyline to a normal platform action packed adventure. However the game also has its share of problems such as the stubborn camera that can cause the game to be very discouraging. With the camera stuck at one position the game becomes sort of difficult and makes it hard to figure out what to do next. Also the low textured graphics can cause this great game look bad. At times it feels as if the Ubisoft team rushed through this game.
To conclude it would be wise not to compare this game with any of the Rayman games because every game must be different in some ways
