Not the best Tomb Raider game to date but it is till a fun game, although the engine is a bit glitchy.

Tomb Raider Underworld follows where Tomb Raider Legend left off. It isn't the best Tomb Raider game to date but it is still worth a play.

The game looks quite good and it has some interesting locales in which to play. These locales also offer a bit of fun when trying to find some of the hidden treasures. The look of the motion captured movements for Lara make her seem a bit more realistic. Despite the fact that it looks good it does also suffer from some problems with glitches. Mainly one's where Lara will get caught in anomalies in the map or some problems if you run UP a slope.

The game itself is quite fun and has a fair bit to offer, and it shows some inspiration from the older games in terms of combat and which foes you face. The new weapons system is better, and the dual aim is good for when you are in a bit of a mess. The close combat system is a bit of same-old-same-old. The exploration is quite fun and it follows a similar system to the other games.

The story follows Lara as she tries to reach Avalon/ Helheim to save her mother. The only way that she can gain safe access (without using the portals seen in Legend) is to find Thor's gauntlets, Belt and Mjölnir. (In Norse mythology Thor's hammer Mjölnir was so heavy that he had to use a pair of special gauntlets to lift it) The story is interesting and something that is quite enjoyable to keep track of as you play through.

Overall Tomb Raider Underworld isn't the best Tomb Raider game but it is still an enjoyable experience.
