too short, too easy ... but still fun

User Rating: 7 | Tomb Raider: Underworld PC
Most people will like this game -- it's very good, so disregard my opinion especially if you are a TR fan. My beef with this game is:

- it's a way too easy
- very short (a TR fan can do it in an afternoon, I bet)
- very sloppy console port with darn auto-aim on
- shooting is not a very good experience no matter how you look at it

The good stuff:
- excellent graphics and the game runs smooth with no glitches
- decent platforming, tho it lacks some of the possible excitement due to too much of it being very horizontal platforming
- nice and attractive environments
- nice sound and background music
- manual saves

I think many of TR fans will miss the feel and stories that older TR offered. However, this is not a bad game. It's quite a fun playing it -- the environments, sounds, and graphics will suck you in and you'll have fun while it lasts ... unfortunately, it won't last that long since the game is rather short and easy. All in all, if you are looking for a short adventure game with rather solid platforming, then you'll really enjoy this one. Gamers that are primarily searching for more typical TP/FP shooters could find this game and its shooting mechanics underwhelming. Overall score: 6.8/10.
