Aesthetically pleasing, but glitches from TRIII still in the game? Would think they'd have worked it out by now...

User Rating: 7 | Tomb Raider: Underworld PS3
The BAD:

I haven't played much TR since TRIII on PS1. It seems that while there are enhancements to the environment details, it seems that Lara moves pretty much the same and gets trapped in the same rocks and walls as she did back in TRIII. I expected a major advancement since then, but didn't get it.

The GOOD:

I really enjoyed the story! It seems this installment of the franchise borrowed from the formula set out in the TR movies... it progressed very nicely!

I really enjoyed the emphasis on problem-solving, rather than a shoot-em-up.

The cut scenes were beautiful! Nice way to enjoy transitioning from one mission to the next.

I appreciated the field guide that allowed you to access hints for your current objectives and inventory of treasures and relics acquired!

The RATING:

Gameplay... I wish it were smoother than the PS1 days. I bought my game used, so didn't lose much. But I could have rented it for a week and probably would have completed it if time allowed. I did enjoy the game!
