Things aren't improving between Johnny and Lara, but maybe Tomb Raider: Chronicles will make everything better. That or Johnny will revolt and start playing something else, mid game...
People don't want to hear you swearing because of your complete lack of skill and stubborn attitude to not learn controls and movements. You say no gamepad support, you say useless camera angles - dude if you just try understand game mechanics - those shortcomings aren't painful at all. You call yourself a gamer and you make money on this! Hilarious! They should break your contract giving you no money. You are supposed to enter TR world, get to know its climate, be inquiring, but you done NOTHING! You just hit control keys randomely, say some swearing on how those games are bad. At first I thought "ok, it's TR1, it's his first time, graphics are really bad, controls are not smooth, he will, he will get used to it." TR2: "ok, let's give him a little more time to accomodate". Next episodes have been released but no progress :(. Oh, I forgot, there is one thing - they learnt they can skip levels!
The moment you guys closed TR and started a new game i just paused the video, i don't care what you are going to play next and i don't care what you guys think of your selves, you guys are the worst Tomb Raiders i have ever seen.
1st, that place on the left was the training section, you DID NOT EVEN NEED TO ENTER THERE if you don't want to go through any trainings.
2nd, you are in the 5th installment of the game and yet you still don't want to learn the controls of the game or how the game works!.
3rd, it might have been funny at first watching you struggle with the first TR games but now it is just boring and annoying as your play style literally did not get any progress at all!.
I didn't know that Melonie were doing a video series playing through the TR gamess but anyway, here is a link to her 1st playthrough video from the first TR game, go watch it Johnny, maybe you get to learn a thing or two.
is there a way that i can just subscribe to the vids that you post this s**t is very funny
I have had a really rough week financially. Between school and turmoils it has been rough and taken a toll on me. I always looked forward to videos with Johnny because...well...he cracks me up. I really needed this video today, it brightened me up a bit. Thanks guys.
He actually could have used Xpadder though.
There's no reason why not. Maybe he just doesn't know what it is.
Gotta say though, nice work on getting this GameSpot staff job and all, you seem to have relaxed into it nicely.
I'm seeing a lot of comments about skipping ahead to Legend, Anniversary or Underworld. Sure if you like only specifically programmed walls you can climb, linear level design & the destruction of the Tomb Raider atmosphere, not to mention short & way too easy. Why not. Or I'm just a butthurt Core Design fanboy, probably a bit of both but my point still stands
though i do love the chivalry vids with johnny, i must admit i was a little bit disappointed that it wasn't all tomb raider. though thats only because i enjoy watching how frustrated johnny gets and not because i like tomb raider.
best rage quit ever!
Whoever suggested "Angel Of Darkness" needs themselves checked out by a Doctor. It's flat-out the worst of them all and nearly killed the franchise. I think Johnny should play Tomb Raider: Anniversary. It's just the original, but with better graphics and MUCH better controls.
I love that most of this is Chivalry. Wish I'd stayed up late to watch again, I'll catch it next week! Awesome to see so many GS people playing too =]
HAhahahaha! Gamespot should consist entirely of Johnny getting angry whilst playing games.
I'd watch ALL DAY!
Question: "What are your favourite memories of playing Tomb Raider?"
Johnny: "Quitting Tomb Raider."
I don't know if you know this Johnny, but there is a program called Xpadder, which allows you to use the controller on every software, even on the desktop of your pc.
I think you should give it a try :) (love the serie)
Enjoyed the previous videos of this "mini-series" much more, probably because they were actually about tomb raider and not something else. That said though, I cant blame you for quitting, chronicles and aod are the only tr games I never finished!
Johnny must be the worst gamer ever! I want to know why was he hired to work for GameSpot. All he likes are mindless hack n' slash games, which is very sad...
@jflkdjs and if you were in charge at GS then it would be shite, Johnny and the rest of the staff are pretty awesome tbh. Every now and then we may not agree with them but on the whole i think they do a great job.
Tomb Raider Chronicles sucked donkey balls! On the upside Johnny seems to have gotten alot better at Chivalry!
Just shows how much crap we were willing to take playing this "now" older games,I myself have very fond memories of Tomb raider 1 since it was my first ever game that i owned but if I were to play it now I would probably go mad!MAD I SAY....heh
@zvirsky i use to love Sonic Adventure until I went back and played it. Didn't hold up as well as I'd thought. The nostalgia was there but i knew that the mechanics and camera angles were no longer good.
I wonder what an appropriate punishment for Johnny going rogue and ditching his in-depth and informative Tomb Raider retrospective playthroughs would be?
8 hour classic Tomb Raider marathon perhaps?
Just a suggestion.
I was surely surprised by the switching to Chivalry and at first thought Johnny didn' t have the guts to do it.
I was proved wrong and I' m glad I did.
The Chivalry was the best part, reminded me of Monty Python for some strange reason. I also laughed as much as heads got loped off.
Though I enjoy watching Johnny swinging his sword while "talking" to his man, I feel this video was uncalled for and unprofessional. Just saying.
@_Judas_ If a game is just atrociously bad, you can't really blame the man for not wanting to go insane :D.
You guys are awesome.
I'm already seing it: Tomb Raider Legend. "This is the first NORMAL game in the series! "
