Tomb Raider Anniversary is a Great Addition to the series and I just wish they would remake all the old games after this

User Rating: 8.5 | Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Platinum) PS2
Tomb Raider Anniversary is a great game for PS2 it does all the old a justified redemption (Wait Legend did that!) But it surpasses legend in so many ways. The Good –Puzzles hard but not too hard. Adrenaline dodge is a great addition especially on higher levels of difficulty. Visually stunning Lara looks amazing. (Just as every thought when the original came out) Difficulty settings are great Hard=Hard and so on. Not too short but you want more when your finished.

The Bad- There wasn't much that stuck out to me as being bad. Beside one sound effect late in the game but it's just one and not a big deal.
Game Play- 8-Game Play is excellent controlling Lara is very easy fluid and feels right. The only down fall to game play is the camera gets outta whack sometimes, but it's not a big deal if you scope the area first before just climbing away. Graphics-9- Graphics are great for a PS2 game myself I regard God of War and Final Fantasies as the best graphical games for PS2. And TR anniversary is right there with them from the amazing waterfalls and enemies to Lara being soaking wet after a dive into the water and drying off as you play the level.

Sound-10-Effects are perfect beside one part in a movie. Music is absolutely perfect all the right timing and music is great to hear.

Value-9- 30 dollar game great price all said and done for new comers to the series or veterans like myself. The Story line is great and you almost get a feel as if your really watching a movie every now and then like GOW.

Tilt-7- The replay value is decent just because if you're like me and like to complete games like this to 100% you can replay the levels and find the secrets and artifacts you miss and a cool feature is that you can change Lara's outfit and even play as the original Lara with the original graphics.

From Lara's Home, Peru, Greece, Egypt and a lost empire this game is great and along with Tomb Raider Legend keeps the series thriving. But this game builds on TR: Legend. Legend was incredibly easy to figure out some or actually most to all puzzles for me. While TR:A does a great job at making it just right. The secrets are hidden well and take some exploring to get, or some puzzling acrobatic leaps to get.

Lara looks great and is easy to handle. By far the best handling in any TR game. Essentially the same as Legend but with a few ad-ons like pole balancing. Lara is pretty much realistic for a hot English woman in basically Olympic level fitness. You can make Lara do visually amazing flips and hand springs that really don't do anything but look great. She jumps like a real person with her ability jumps. There isn't too much in the game that will have you saying "That will never happen".

The Boss Battles are great and normal battles are good .The Adrenaline dodge is an excellent tool for higher levels of game play (hard), But unneeded on easy. Environments are great and realistic, and even Almost believable to see the T-Rex and Raptors in the hidden valley. The traps and enemies are well placed. Like the original though enemies are sparse and only are encountered at good well placed times. By no means is the game boring.

Overall I give Tomb Raider: Anniversary a 8.6 out of 10. The graphics amazing, game play phenomenal, and music perfect it's hard not to enjoy this game, unless you played the original and just want everything to remain exactly the same as it seems some people are never happy with what they get compared to Angel of Darkness, Anniversary is a perfect master pierce of Lara Croft. Overall, great game. Personally I just can't wait to see how Lara plays out on to PS3 because I was impressed with both of the latest PS2 games the PS3 should be nothing short of breath taking.
