Kevin VanOrd gets interrogated by Sam Fisher in this video review for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction.
This game is a step in the wrong direction for Splinter Cell.
I don't like how it's barely even half the length of the other games in the series.
And I don't like that the stealth has been watered down either. The stealth is what's awesome from the other games, and the only reason I enjoyed those so much.
I hope the upcoming Blacklist can get back on track. Splinter Cell needs to go back to its roots.

For the people who thinks this game has a good approach of not being stealhy: sincerely people, you're playing video games very wrong; if you don't like punishingly hard stealth games, you shouldn't even been looking forward to Splinter Cell franchise. Unfortunately, SC:C was all messed up because of these wrong players.
I love the Splinter Cell series for the stealth and it looks like they have stripped it down a bit in favor of action, I still can't complain. It's only around 20 bucks now, so there is absolutely no excuse not to play this.
1 Like 9/10 in my book. Fantastic, fast action and no punishment for not being stealthy. Also, great story telling, Sam Fisher feels real and more emotional. BUY IT!
what the problem with gamespot why this game have 6.5 i think the rater was sick it must has 8.0 or 8.5, Really bad rater
I want a more old school splinter cell. don't get me wrong I had a blast playing this game (especially co-op) but this game was just to easy. It really didn't matter if you where spotted, all you did was drop a flash and hid behind the nearest cover. WAAAY to easy. But at the same time, being able to take out 8 guys in under 3 sec if you plan your attack correct is KICKASS and soooo much fun.
@ BioshockKid same here..... did u know sony gave ubisoft a bit of money (2 grand, i think) to carry on the franchise, and this is how they repay sony?? >:O
great game.. deserve well more than just a 8.0.. oh and btw, the co-op is f*cking awesome!
i hate it when kevin reviews games. he always gives great games bad ratings. he also has a really annoying voice. this game deserves AT LEAST a 9.0 I am only on the 2nd level and I am having a blast!!!!!
giving the game 8.0 is crazy the game is so nice that i think minimum you should give it 9.0 ign.com gave it 9.3
@k0k066: Where in the review did Kevin call it a bad game? Also, do you even know what "felixble" means? The interrigation process might be different, but it looks really linier and scripted.
The game needs just 3 things. 1) Smoother movement (not just walk/run). This will also aid targeting. 2) Camera change from left/right for better viewing were theres no cover. 3) Ability to stand up while in cover (would provide better l.o.s at times). PS: The game is just GREAT! need a sequel!
This game is extremely underrated. Its really well put together and the game play is smooth and thrilling. This review doesnt serve it justice
Honestly, I think this is a great game that gets really underrated. So it's not identical in style to the original or Chaos Theory. So what? Those were great games, but just because Conviction is different doesn't mean it is lesser. Mark & execute does make it much easier to defeat guards, but there are way more of them to deal with and fewer shadows to hide in than previous games. And Kevin says you can't peek around corners! Yes you can.
what!!??? the interogations aren't flexible???? come on in the previous games could u interogate like this way or about the stealth your last known position???? u suck bad review u shouldn't call that a bad game just because it is different from the old ones
not the best in the series but not the worst...wait there isnt a worst, this series rules! a great game and great turn on the series :)
So we're not allowed to hear a guy say "F*** you" but we can see him get his head bashed in on a urinal? haha
@swavemente I would say This as its alot better then this review gives credit i would give it a 8.5 or a 9 at least! the only gripe i have about this is that it isnt that pretty because it uses the Unreal 2 Engine but its a great game sorta short but it has a great Co-op campaign and has the Multiplayer Beta for Ghost Recon : future solider which should come out in November or December and looks great also!
