Awesome! goodbye old boring SC hello new and action/stealth SC! Conviction was ok but it should offer more stealth ways to dispose of bad guys, like knifes, wires, ...
Ubisoft made the difficult choice to part with Michael Ironside because they used full body motion-cap in this game as part of Ubisoft's new gameplay engine featured in SC Blacklist, ACIII and Watchdogs. Simply put, Michael is in no shape to perform the stunts required for the motion-cap. Could they have voiced him over? Yes. But it would be a LOT more work and would make the mo-cap less genuine.
I dont think they got rid of michael ironside. They have done this in the past where they use a different voice for trailers, but when the game comes out, they will use michael ironside.
I'm sorry but Sam Fisher is not the same without Michael Ironside. where is the deep voice, where is the grey hair?is this a prequel of some sorts?.What the hell is going on?
I think it's pretty stupid that all the other game trailers have splinter cell blacklist ad, then when I actually go see the game it shows some other ad. What the hell?
First when I heard about 21st december 2012, that the world would end this day, I thought "meh"... but after I heard about GTA 5 and this Splinter Cell coming next year, I need God to give us a little more time! Please!
That does not look like the Sam Fischer I know. He's like Jason Bourne but with his agency working with him. And whats with the face-lift?, i thought he was old...er
Do the folks at Ubi not care AT ALL what the majority of the SC fans think or want??? Do they intentionally continue to strip SC of any value and character to get under our skin???
This looks generic and boring, just like every other military/action game out there. WTF? Seriously, where is Ironside's voice :(only one of the defining characteristics of Sam), why does Sam look like he's regressed in age by two decades and where is the atmosphere, the music, the pacing...ANYTHING that made Splinter Cell great? This looks absolutely awful.
Read the forums Ubisoft, listen to the true fans (the ones that made SC a popular franchise, remember?) God, I hope this isn't an accurate representation of what this game is all about....I won't hold my breath, though.
How is it that Fisher gets 5 years younger with every new release? His hair was graying by the first game. He looks 30 now, he moves 10X faster, and they replaced Ironside with some younger voice actor. The realism in the series has been completely butchered, that's for sure. If they wanted a young character, they should've had Fisher retire to more of a Lambert type of role, and brought in a new guy.
PS, I seem to be the only one that remembers how at the end of the first game (and even into Pandora Tomorrow) he was so upset killing President Nikoladze because he "Wasn't some damn assassin, he was an agent". Ya, that seems to have just been thrown out the window now and Sam Fisher doesn't mind killing people willy-nilly for no reason other than they're in the way.
Way to turn a character who actually had layers and complexity to him into another generic action-hero.
@BuBsay I have to agree with you.... but I think Conviction "changed" him... he was all about avenging his daughter so he prolly doesnt give a damn anymore
@BuBsay I agree. The old stealth genre is dead and buried a long time ago, along with the realistic military shooter. Well I guess there's ARMA III if only they could make a somewhat fluent engine for once.
