Fantastic. Still not perfect, though

User Rating: 8.5 | Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 PS3
It has extremely great high points, and some rather low points as well.

Gameplay: This game is separated into; Story mode, Terrorist hunt, and versus, (online.) The story mode is really fun. It's got some fantastic missions and some really annoying flaws.
The missions themselves are great. The interface is fantastic and the maps and deaths are rarely cheap. There's always multiple paths to approach things and the A.I is good.
My only complaint is the friendly A.I. They can be flat out awful at times. They get in your way when you shoot, they won't go where you tell them to, for no reason, and they don't shoot at enemies. Mind you, this is just sometimes. Most of the time they're good boys and do what you want them to.
My favorite part about the game is the fact that everything you do can be done with a friend. I've spent hours and almost all night trying to master the terrorist hunt stages with a friend. Extremely fun. It sucks they can't control the friendly A.I when you die though.

Graphics and Sound: The graphics are good. That's it. Good. Not stunning but certainly not awful. They're good. I never caught myself staring at the backgrounds or nothing but they're still pretty good. The sound is a different story, however. The sound is fantastic. Terrifying but fantastic. It's horrifying having your partner die and for 10 seconds, you're holding off enemies coming from 2 or 3, and sometimes 4 directions. You hear their footsteps coming and you hear orders coming telling them to kill you. The music's really good too.

Story: Eh, it's great but I never played the first one so it could be confusing at times. It was still good though. I managed to piece together the missing links.
I really enjoyed the characters. It was cool that they started off 5 or 6 years earlier and then went back to present day and you see all the people you worked with in high ranks.

Length: It's a decently lengthy story. I played through my favorite missions again and then played the entire story with a friend.
The terrorist hunt is what kept me coming back. It's always so fun trying to master each one. Fun and challenging, that is. With or without a friend, either way it's fun but it's way more fun to play it with a friend.
Online was okay, but it just wasn't my favorite.

The Verdict: I definitely suggest renting it. If you've got friends who like playing these kind of games it will be much more lengthy and fun. The graphics are passable and fine and all that. The voice acting and overall sound is excellent.
If you're buying it for online, don't. Just don't. I suppose you could but it's no Call of Duty. Overall though, it's a really fun game. Even more fun to play with a friend.
