User Rating: 9.8 | Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 XBOX
Rainbow Six has always been one of my favorite titles, ever since the first one I have loved the series and was always ready for the next part. Rogue Spear was awsome, and now the third installment is here and I bought it the other day. I love it! The command controls are PERFECT without an reason. The original R6 and R6:RS had you pressing multiple buttons at once just to succure a hostage or terrorist, and then it suspects you to remember all the different control commands. Now, In R6:3, the controls are simple, just point and press the "A" button. How amazing is that?! Anybody that didn't like the series probrably didn't like it because of the complicated controls, but now their more simplistic than your average 1st-person shooter. The realism is back and better than ever. The AI is perfect in my opinion, unlike Game Spot, I havn't seen the AI do anything stupid yet. Sure, the terrorist make a few stupid calls, but they would do the same in real life, especially the ones that truely aren't ready to die. It makes you feel like they are truely scared that their time is up and they are going to be killed. You can hear them sometimes scream or nearly cry while surrendering. It really makes you feel like your leading a C.T.U. The game is splendid, and if you liked the first 2 and Ghost Recon, I know for sure you'll love this game. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: The Good: The controls couldn't have been done better, easy point and press commands make this game probrably the best in the series for alot of gamers, including me. The Bad: Your a team of four, not six. The other games as I remember let you control a team of six men, I think thats why it was called Rainbow SIX. Now you'll only be able to control one man and command three. The Ugly: Sadly theres no split-screen multiplayer or coop mode. For those who didn't give in and buy X-Box Live yet, nows the time to do it, because alot of X-Box games, escpecially FPS's, are getting rid of their split screen play. you can however tell a friend to bring over his X-Box and TV and hook two up and play a link match, but thats the only way you'll be playing with a friend, but if your planning on playing with a sibling, then your screwed...
