First of all, I’m not a “core” gamer but I do spend some time playing. Therefore, my review is for the people who play some games just for some fun once in a while. This is a pretty good game overall! I think when you’re playing in multiplayer mode in Co-op is when the game is at its best. You can go at your own speed with a friend and don’t have to worry about another team taking guys out when you’re not ready. Also, in co-op mode you can have your buddy watch your back as you sneak around in stealth mode and watch your movements on his screen. That is SICK! I would recommend unlocking all the screens first when playing in co-op mode instead of having to unlock them by playing in single player campaign mode. The only downside is that you don’t get the mission instructions before the game starts and you only have two guys to work with who are limited with weapons. If you don’t have a bro to play with you then playing the game in single player campaign mode is also pretty fun. You can have 6 guys at your control and can switch to different players with is nice when you want to do different kinds of damage. The only downside is that when you’re switching guys sometimes your other team takes guys out and robs you of the challenge; however it does add to the reality. What’s also cool is that you’re guys get more experience and better skilled as they survive missions and you can control where they get better or not. If you loose a guy he’s lost so you get a sense of loss when you lose a guy. The game could have been better if the bad guys were better at coming after you and they didn’t sit around while you were s****ing them. That takes away from the reality that exists while you’re playing this game. The graphics are pretty good (great when looking at your team-mate walking in slow-mo) but when you’re in single player mode the other team you command runs around too fast and it looks fake. Like I said, it’s much better in multi-player co-op mode. I don’t know what that dude who wrote the review for GS is talking about. You CAN play in co-op mode and you are NOT limited to only playing death matches. He was wrong! I was reluctant to buy this game after the review, but I’m glad I did. This is a game that has captured my attention for a long time as did GTA3. I haven’t played SOCOM, but I’m sure in some ways its better, especially when playing-online. This game is worth the money.
