Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars Video Review

Seems like a really cool game. I will most definitely pick this up when I get a 3DS and the cool thing is that it's only £7 on Amazon at the minute.

another 3ds game to buy when I get a 3DS. Seems really well made, if a bit rushed. People need to stop bitching about the graphics. It looks nice. Not all games need to be super mega polygons.

I LOVE turn-based strategy games. I will never grow tired of this genre. It's tense and casual at the same time. Also, it's perfect for public transit and pooping. Fire Emblem and Advance Wars were my main reasons for owning a GBA and DS. Just got Battle for Wesnoth for my iPad and loving the poop out of that too.

turn based is a turn off for me and the cheap dated look. Nintendo has proved that they are quite content on making cheap games with no depth. I don't know why they don't put more stock into the success of games like Res evil revelations.

Its not the turned base that turns me off. Actually only SOCOM game i liked was the turn based one on PSP. But whats with the lack of trying to get good graphics on the 3ds? Honestly it appears that GBA is still the best portable device outthere. PSP vita looks great, but waiting on some good games.

Turn based? Meh passing I'm gonna get the 3ds when star fox comes out.

I've got a titanium core modded hand grip with steady zone control functionality as well as a dual cortex reflex sight with an onboard heat wave laser system. Hehe.

@LaFeverBeaver the GBA game you are thinking of was Rebel Star tactical command (it is OK) which is the GBA version of Laser squad which is made by and based upon the original Rebel Star for the ZX Spectrum (this game was actually great back in 84 on the spectrum, i lost many hours too it).

This game is very good. I would have given it a 9, especially compared to the lack luster games that are currently on the Nintendo 3DS (with the exception of Super Street Fighter I suppose). I don't play fighting games though ha ha, so I'll take the world's word for it.

Man it's been so long since i've played a Turn based Strategy game.. i'm a little worried about getting my ass kicked by this game lol, although i do tend to do better with TBS as opposed to RTS.

So... made by the same guy who made X-Com (UFO defense is still my fav game of all time, too bad you can't find it for any current gen systems...)... I wish I was less prejudiced; I was at the store and saw this on the shelf the day I bought my 3DS and dismissed it as soon as I saw it was a Ghost Recon game. Instead I bought FF Tactics A2 (awesome, by the way), The World Ends With You, and some weird Atlus game called "Knights In The Nightmare." No 3D games, but I think when I finish those (if that's possible) I'll give this one a go. ***Also, there was a tactical game like this for the Advance; but it had something to do with aliens... anyone know what I'm talking about? Help me out with the title if you can.

@nimaf well that was my opinion lol, look at the game its similiar to original ds games.

Great! I'm getting this one. But it's nothing new, this game plays like "Pathway to Glory (2004) which was Great, a score of 8.1" and "Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command (2007) Which they rated poor, 4.5 (why?), but it's basically the same."

Why did I get thumbs downed for that? T games are 13 plus. It's not like I'm underage.

@dutchgamer83 The nintendo ds is on its way out the door in a short period of time there will be no games for a ds. The 3ds without the 3d turned on has much better graphics then the ds can even dream of even if you never use the 3d its a better console period. I dont even like the 3d effect and love the 3ds

Pleasantly surprised. I though it was gonna be a port of sorts. But instead you get a Fire Emblem/Advance Wars kind of gameplay, which I love. I thought only Japanese developers make games like these anymore.

@Gothic-360 3ds games are $40. It's pretty easy to just check by yourself.

@CloudStrife97 It feels kinda weird though, I just can't picture Ghost Recon to be an SRPG... Maybe I'll check it out

@BSEE10 Yeah its the first, most Ghost Recon games are 3rd person stealth shooters, but Tom Clancy has done some strategy games before like End War and such.

I'm stunned by this, I'm a SRPG fan but... I didn't know that Ghost Recon is offered this turn base game. Is this a first one?

hmmm i like to see some fighting with cool graphics O.o so even with a good game play like this with ***** graphics means NO to me

anything inspired by Fire Emblem is sure to hve some quality.

hey how much does a 3DS game cost?

This was a surprise gem for me. I played it a fair bit yesterday and I like it a lot. As a big tactics and SRPG fan, I've been impressed. It's a bit lighter than Field Commander on PSP, but the 3D effect really makes maps feel immersive.

This got a better score than I thought. I will definitely give it a try.

Looks very good, even better then the Future Soldier game that is coming out. In all honesty I wish they would just go back to the Original Ghost Recon/Island Thunder style, those are some of the best tactical shooters ever.

Is it just me or is the Ghost Recon series going off in tons of directions?Arent Ubisoft going to focus on Future Solider.

if i didnt already have street fighter and pokemon black I'd probly pick this one up, but i'll be busy till Ocarina, Star Fox and Mario Kart come out, i'll consider this one down the line when it's a little cheaper

@dutchgamer83 its mostly grathical but it does help on some games like wings so you can have a better grasp on how far you have befor your next ring. i got it for the much better grathics and the upcoming games 3d was a bonus.

OH WOW. i'm getting it.

Nice review but i miss to hear what influence the 3d aspect has on the game. The 3DS is new and i haven't played it yet and still doubting if i should buy so i would like to hear more about how much extra the 3D adds to the 3DS games. For now im not entirely convinced if the 3DS is worth the money while i already have a normal DS.
