This game is one of the two games that I remember from my childhood. (The other is Zombies Ate My Neighbors) Both of these games provided me and my family back then. Well, when I saw this on VC, I was excited. I downloaded it the day and first time I was on VC. I was not disappointed in the least. This game still has it's odd charm. It is great for people of all ages to play as well. It is slow-paced and fun!
The story revolves around Toejam and Earl, who have crash landed on Earth (future earth? or their crash really broke the Earth up!). They must explore this broken Earth to find all the pieces of thier ship from the windshield to the speakers to make it home. They use a arsenal of found presents (Santa got lost and confused) to assist them. The presents vary from Spring shoes to help you jump over gaps, tomatoes (a personal Fav.) to throw at violent earthlings, Total Bummer! (death is a present, Santa must of figured coal wasn't doing it anymore), a boombox to distract thoose mean earthlings, and many more surprises.
You know thoose earthlings I described? Well they are not very nice. I'll just go ahead and explain some to you. One is a group of angry bees, so I think you know what they do. Another is a Hawaiin girl dancing and making you dance, doesn't seem threatening at first. But, then again, with other earthlings chasing after you, a dance off isn't the best thing to do. Then there are the dreaded moles, they burrow under you and steal your presents, a personal least favorite enemy. But, not all are bad. The Opera singer will sing for three bucks to "Pop"(sounds a bit violent, nope, they just disappear and the word pop appears where they were. xD) every enemy on screen. Oh yeah, Santa also makes appearances on the game, looking for his presents. Don't worry you can't pop him. You can however sneak up on him and make him jump and drop some presents before flying off.
I still play this game quite a bit with my mom, others have moved out. So, I highly recommend it for people who want a slow paced but entertaining game.
