Raceing simulator that is actualy FUN.
Just like Pro Race Driver the gameplay is fun and controls are responsive. Even now with new cars and loads of new tracks the game is even more fun. Out of all I have enjoyed the Rally racing the most. There are Gravel, Snow, Ice, and Rain rally tracks. Other real world tracks are there. One thing that I liked was that if there was one of a same track it would be at a different time of day or in rain. Game offers number of the top cars from many different events, Formula, rally, Super Car, Muscle cars….and more. All of the cars have nicely detailed damage. O and yes for those who really like ONLINE PLAY it’s there.
This version has a very much noticeable graphic improvements. The resolution is much better and the effects are more realistic. I love how the texturing is done….no more blurry mess as in the previous. Environments looked nice and there was no noticeable popup in the draw distance. Sky texturing was done well too. One of the things I was not happy with was the rain effect, it is like Rain, Sun and Clouds at the same time, but it still looked OK.
I have a 5.1 Dolby Digital II 700w sound system and I have to say this game brings some nice experience when it comes to Sound FX.. When you get hit from the back that is where you hear it. If your glass window brakes from the left, that is where you hear it. Sound so real that I literally turn my head thinking it I am there.
If you want a good racing simulator with good fun this is it. A must have racing game for the PlayStation 2 if you want online racing. This game is worth the buy.
