In 1990 people still go to arcades and the arcades had Mad Dog McCree as well as consoles had a few decent arcade ports as well as Nintendo releasing their next Zapper game called To the Earth for the NES. Unlike most other Zapper games where it's all simple and straight forward for high scores, this one is challenging and difficult to complete.

To the Earth takes place in the reaches of space where you travel towards 4 different planets that are Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and the final level Earth in order to save humanity from the invaders. There's not much to say about the plot but at least the writing is passable.

Throughout 4 Levels you'll be blasting your way through numerous enemy ships that just fly across the screen. These ships are really fast so you'll need to concentrate on blasting as many ships as you can while shooting the enemy missiles before they hit you. Unless you have good reactions then you'll be blasted by all the speeding spaceships that are out to kill you.

To The Earth is very impressive looking game on the NES. There's a HUD which almost looks like inside of an actual ship. You got the whole space theme which is well detailed as well as the sprites which are animated with amazing detail such as when a spaceship is coming close or seeing the explosions such as the ships you shot or during the intro. The music is repetitive with the same music track being played on every level but however the sound effects are amazing. To The Earth is one of the more impressive looking and sounded games within the NES Library.

Although this game is incredibly difficult it's also a very short game too. To The Earth on the NES requires good reactions and concentration but as long as you have expert shooting skills then you'll have a great trip through space. Pick this game up if you want anything for the Zapper that's really hard if you conquered other Zapper games like Operation Wolf, Duck Hunt and so on.
