TNK III is an early arcade game by SNK and featured on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection. Even though the title is "III", there are not any earlier games in the "series" to predate it (it was simply known T.A.N.K. in Japan, not sure why we had the confusing title in the west). The objective is simple, you control a tank and can fire both machine guns and your cannon to mow down enemies as you advance through their territory. The arcade cabinet featured a rotary joystick where you can tilt the joystick to move in the direction while twisting it to change the direction your cannon turret faces. This game predates the more famous Ikari Warriors and is technically the first appearance of Ralf Jones (who drives the tank) although you never actually see him. This is a pretty fun, but challenging game with perhaps the most fun being running over all the soldiers (GTA style before GTA). I think this is worth checking out for anybody, but especially for retro arcade enthusiasts.
