The video game, TNA Impact has some potential, but the problem is that the game felt a bit rushed.

TNA Impact the video game is the first TNA video game made. The video game has a handful of Wrestlers from the show such as Sting, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Booker T and many more. You can take the action in a six sided (Hexagonal) ring. There are some matches to choose from such as one on one, tag team, Falls Count Anywhere 1on1 or 2on2, Free for 3 way match, and the infamous Ultimate X match 1on1 or 3 way match.

I think the game was put together well but it fell short on some things. The game doesn't have a season mode like the Smackdown vs. Raw games, instead the game features a Story Mode. You get to play the fictional wrestler named Suicide. At the begining of the story he gets attacked in Mexico and now he enters TNA wrestling to make a name for himself. Eventually the Suicide character was brought to life on the TNA Impact weekly show. It would take a couple of days to complete the story mode.

The rest of the game was only an arcade oriented direction, absolutely no season mode. The best thing out of this game is to play the Ultimate X match, once you climb the top cable and reach the middle where the X is situated you get to play the minigame where the bar is shown on the top middle screen. You push the X button when the meter gets to the green tab on the center, the meter will get faster and faster until the player takes down the X.

Every match is a no DQ match, there is no referee for any of the matches on TNA Impact. You get to use chairs against your opponent(s) on the outside or the inside of the ring. The controls are different from the Smackdown vs. Raw series, so it would take time for anyone including myself to get used to playing.

The layout for wrestlers are very different from the Smackdown vs. Raw games, there is no Create your character or to edit the moves of the current roster. When you play Story Mode you get to unlock characters, fictional and non-fictional from the game from matches you win. I prefer having a Create Mode than unlocking characters in Story Mode, but the game developers are trying to create something different from other Wrestling Games though.

TNA Impact is a decent game to play. If you are a Wrestling fan purchase the game, if you are not a Wrestling fan, rent the game first. The game is not for everyone's taste and if those who already own the game might get tired of playing it within a year or less because there is not so much interesting content in the game. Hopefully, Midway should make a sequel with better improvements.
