Heres why its not soooo bad!

Strange as it may seem, I really enjoyed this game. It may have been due to the simplicity it offered, the general cut scenes and artwork, or the overall fluidity of the game but this game was fun.

The game is not like your average beat'em up turtle game. It's a new type of game that basically involves pressing buttons to have the turtle you're playing jump from obstacle to obstacle (not like a platformer though). Sounds stupid? Its not. Let me explain,

Game Play (7.5)- Once you get used to the general mechanics of the game (not long), there is a general sense of flow with the jumps, and as you get better at it, your ninja will be flying from obstacle to obstacle dodging pipes, arrows and logs and looking cool the entire time. The quick paced button combination gives the feeling of speed, and the game rewards chained jumps very well. If you fall, you start back from the checkpoint but that is not very frustrating. The only annoying parts are the fight sequences which are admittedly a little stupid. The combos are not very entertaining and all fight sequences follow pretty much the same strategy. But this doesn't take away from the jumping chaining hoping looping fun which is 70% of the game. The game is short though, which leaves you wanting more but impacts value for money.

Graphics (7) – The graphics, including the cut scenes and the unlockable art work are amazing. Not Resistance Retribution amazing, more like cartoony amazing. The fight sequences are the only flaw in graphics as the characters sometimes look a little blocky.

Sound (7) – Sound is decent. Music is entertaining and overall effects are good.

Replay Quality (6) – Since the game offers medals, unlockable art etc, and the game is short and easy, you will want to replay the game. And since it offers a level select mechanism in the story mode, you can choose which level you want more medals in or unlock stuff in. (kinda like burnout).

Buy or Rent? – Rent

Overall (7) – While there are drawbacks like short easy gameplay, and senseless button mash fighting, the game does offer substance with its fluid jump combos and is not something you want to overlook. Rent it when you are in mood for a simple fun game without complications and levels you pull your hair out to pass.
