Overhyped, and sub-optimized on the PC

User Rating: 4 | Titanfall PC

Titanfall was overhyped to be the next big FPS game to take us into a new era of gameplay mechanics. Now 10 hours of having played it on PC I feel utterly ripped off!

First things first, the performance issues on PC are completely unacceptable. The game uses the source engine, but looks and plays horribly. It taxes your system without any justification as it looks outdated. What is further insulting is the ridiculous vRAM requirement to use textures that are barely passable for today's standards. An example is the "insane" texture quality settings, the only thing that is insane is the actual vRAM requirement to run these textures, as they look washed out, yet consume 3 GB of vRAM.

The game has performance issues on so many levels it is baffling how this got approved on PC. RESPAWN should be ashamed of themselves. To add insult to injury the game takes up 50 GB of HDD space (precious space if you own an SSD) for what? 15 maps, 12 or so weapons? Are you kidding me?

Everything about this game feels rushed. Unless you game on a 3 GB card or happen to have the money to run GTX titans (pun intended) then stay away from this broken console port. This game has fun gameplay but what does that help, when I am forced to lower my resolution from 1080p to 720p on a GTX 680 2GB card!!!!!!!!!

This is downright insulting that a ivy bridge i5 3.8 Ghz CPU and GTX 680 can't sustain a stable 60 FPS even on lowest settings on some maps. This is pathetic, and if RESPAWN don't fix these issues, may they never release another PC game again.
