Titanfall, a step forward in the right direction

User Rating: 7 | Titanfall PC

What should I say about Titanfall? The game itself is pretty much a Call of Duty upgrade with big and explosive robots fighting it out on well made maps. Respawn has made some changes to the casual FPS genre that I love, and that I don't like that much. The things I love about Titanfall is that it's a step to the right direction for casual FPS shooters. The team actually wanted to try out something new with their game and I totally understand that. The things I don't like about the game is that if I actually wanted to put some time and effort into a FPS shooter like this there wouldn't be such a high skill difference since the weapon recoil is ridicilous. I would rather play other games like Counter-Strike or Battlefield 3 or 4, where you actually can get a better grip of your learning curve. This game feels too simple and a lot too casual to become one of those first person shooters that people won't loose interest after a few weeks playing it.

I actually like playing it, but after about two hours in a row you get very bored just because it doesn't feel that you couldn't have done anything better since the last game.

The game is a step forwards for first person shooters, but I would rather wait for a game like Destiny or try to actually put some time into Counter-Strike:GO (Which is a hell of a lot cheaper and a better shooter in my opinion) just because those games is worth waiting for.
