We've seen it all done better before. Just take all of the good out of Prince of Persia and add guns. Not a good game.

I would like to preface this review by saying that the only reason why I gave it a 2.0 rather than a 1.0 is because I like... wait. I did give it a 1.0.

Let's talk about why you shouldn't buy this game and let the other reviewers tell you what's good. I would like to focus on 3 topics in this review:

1. Bad Visuals: This game doesn't look *bad*, but it does look bland and grey. Perhaps the worst part is the visual design that can't make up its mind. The game has futuristic environments that are full of four-wheelers and modern cities, but for some reason there are steampunk props here and there such as airships. This sounds cool on paper, but seeing a bunch of modern soldiers with futuristic weapons flying around in a propeller-powered ship reeks of last-minute design changes. It's this lack of consistency that pulls you out of the world. I spent more time trying to suspend my disbelief than enjoying the game.

2. Contrived gimmicks: Time shifting is what this game is all about, but the use of these abilities is poorly implemented. The controls are smooth enough, but nobody can rival your time shifting powers until the later parts of the game. That makes this game way too easy. Also, the puzzles are insultingly simple. It's more like fitting a square peg into a square hole than actually applying any mental muscle. I have to hit the button then slow down time so I can get through the door before it closes? I've *never* seen *anything* like that before. The only redeeming quality would be the shooting, but I'm pretty sure I saw a similar game mechanic in the original DOOM. Shoot guys, run forward, shoot more guys, end credits.

3. Story: The story is told over the period of roughly three minutes of cutscene (in the whole, final version of the game). The short version: travel into the futurepast to fix a problem with the space-time continuum. It's about that specific, too. The plot will actually make you want to play the game *less*, rather than giving you a reason to keep going.

In summation, this is not a good game. It's contrived, repetitive, too easy, and the story makes See Spot Run look like a complex character novel. If you happen to see this game sitting in the trash, go ahead and pick it out. You might just find out why you found it there, though.
