Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 E3 2003 Preshow Report

Electronic Arts has today released the first gameplay information on the PC version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, which is currently in development at Headgate Studios. The game will feature a number of improvements over the 2003 edition, including the addition of five extra PGA pros and a number of extra licensed and fantasy courses that bring the total number of courses to more than a dozen. Licensed courses in the game will include St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Sawgrass, The Royal Birkdale, Poppy Hills, Spyglass Hill, Scottsdale, Colonial Country Club, and Bay Hill Club and Lodge.

In addition to having extra PGA players in the game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 will allow you to create your own golfer by customizing a number of attributes including body type, head shape, skin tone, and even eye color. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock new items for your character, including clothing, accessories, and sponsors.

The game will feature improved TrueSwing controls and, for those of you who prefer it, a three-click swing system. The game will also feature a number of new gameplay modes, with those on offer including skills competition, shoot-out, tournament, best ball, team matches, scramble, and a PGA Tour season mode in which you can simulate the actual 2003 schedule. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 will also support online play, and, according to today's press release, you'll be able to compete using your customized golfer.

The PC version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 is currently scheduled for release this fall. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
