An improvement on previous versions.

Early days for me yet, so I will look back and possibly recompile this review in a couple of weeks, but from what I've seen so far, this is a very good renewal of the dominant golf simulator series. I have the game set to "pro" difficulty, which I have found challenging but not too hard. What I found in the old versions of the game (I haven't played the last couple as I thought they were getting worse) was that the game was far too easy, and you could post silly scores. Although, with a little practice, it still seems too easy to keep the ball on the fairway when driving the ball, some aspects, in particular, putting are much more challenging. Another thing I like about this game is the way your user created character changes his/her ratings. It has taken away the old way where if you just played the game long enough you could master your character's skills. If you play a poor round, some of your ratings could go down. This rewards consistency and makes the game more challenging.
I can see myself playing this game a lot in the next couple of weeks, so I will be back soon to see if I still think so highly of the game.
