I loved your review. Your voice is perfect for this game's reviewed. I'm buying the game tomorrow.

I just got this game, and i have to say its pretty fun and its though, the "main" game might be easy but it has tons of challenges, i mean the dark notes are pretty though and i'm barely at the first ones, not to mention the music is great, its overall a pretty fun game for fans of the series.

Then one more point. Why does the 0.5 difference mean so much to people? Yes he said "great" at the end of the video review. Should he have hit Ctrl-F through his script and replaced every "great" with "good"? He gave Deponia an 8.0....I hope he didn't use the word "good" in the review lol

I briefly played a friends' copy of it. I like it and it seems they have already added 8 songs for download.

@theJBlounge I don't think they held anything back, it's been out in Japan for a while and most of the DLC is already out there.

Why call it great and then give it 7.5 when 8 means great in your review system?

As a FF I wish I had a 3DS. I like FF fan service that actually works :)

Looks addictive and will definitely get it the first day it comes out.

Fantastic! I can't wait. Wait a moment....I need to buy a 3DS first. :(

mestguy321

@Rheinmetal I was thinking the same thing. Is the 3DS worth it?

Rheinmetal
Rheinmetal

@mestguy321 Hmm, yes and no.Theoretically if someone already owns a DS isn't worth it. But the thing is that Nintendo make all their new and best games available only on the 3DS. So they are pushing us to buy one, if we still want to play their new games. Personally I'm not going to get it now, maybe later if it gets cheaper and I can find a good offer perhaps a bundle with a great game together.

I'm getting  a bit tired of the video reviews not matching up to the projected score.  Sticking to the written.

Bozanimal

@Evanrocknuma An 8.0 or 8.5 is a "great." He says, "great" in reference to the game twice in the last 20 seconds of the review. I think this is actually a fair statement.

I love that it uses the full orchestral soundtrack rather than shoe-horning dubstep or hip-hop into a Final Fantasy game. Kudos to Square Enix on making a lot of very good decisions, and successfully moshing two very different genres of games together.

I didn't see this coming... the 7.5

At some point I'm going to have to pick up a 3DS, there's a pretty good library of games including this one.

I wanna play this if only for the music.... not good at rhythm games and usually don't care about them ( guitar hero's dumb but love Gitaroo Man) anyways I suck so dunno if it's worth even trying

theJBlounge

@uglypinkmoose I'd hope there's some sort of easy mode. You oughta email the UK Podcast crew if it's accessible to non-rhythm genre people: podcast@gamespot.co.uk. They usually do a good job responding and probably will read your question on their weekly podcast.

It's a great tribute to the musical genuineness the series has, it seams. I would had liked to hear more if the music in the review, however; to really show it off. I don't own a 3DS, but if I did, this would definitely be something I would get for it, even though I am not much for rhythm games.

Wow. When this was announced I thought it was a joke, but it looks really intense and fun. I think the people at Square Enix really put their hearts into this one. It's nice to see--

As long as it has the opera scene.

"and running down endless corridors for 20 hours that the final fantasy series is famed for" - Mark

What?  They made the mistake of doing that for one title and suddenly the entire franchise is famed for it?  Not very familiar with Final Fantasy I'm guessing?  That's fine though, would be easy to be bias if you were.  But sorry, a very misinformed comment.

As for people who are ranting that this game is taking precious time away from other projects.  Don't fret it.  This game was developed by IndiesZero.  Square Enix only licensed them to make it, and served as the publishers when it was finished.  So this had no effect on their main projects.

I can understand being defensive for a series you love, a series I love as well, but I think it's just satire.  Not meant to be taken critically.

Looks interesting. Elite Beat Agents is one of my absolute favourites in the DS plus the Final Fantasy series has some of the best soundtracks of any games ever. Maybe I'll get a 3DS eventually. Not sure if the lack of any mention of the quality of the 3D is encouraging or not.

@NickyWithATicky No one game is worth buying a system for.

GunnyHath

@JustPlainLucas In fact I bought my Xbox for one game.  My Wii as well.. and my PS3 now that I think about it.

GunnyHath
GunnyHath ranger

@squall_83 Actually yes, if a game is an exclusive and only available on a certain platform; and this game is good enough to warrant it, I will buy a platform simply for that game.  If something comes out later, even better, if not, it collects dust like my Wii.  In fact Shadow Complex a rather short but great XBLA game is why I bought my 360.

squall_83
squall_83

@GunnyHath I'm sorry, but this whole argument of buying a system simply for one game is just balls. If it were the only game available now and ever for the system would you still have bought it? No. That's just ridiculous. You buy it because it's the first title that justifies your purchase in your mind and you buy it knowing that it's the first of many to come.

grove12345

@JustPlainLucas there are a few titles worth a system. but not this.... actually looking at the gameplay gave me a headache

JustPlainLucas
JustPlainLucas like.author.displayName 1 Like

@beardednun25 I'm glad you can justify your purchases, but I hope you explore the libraries each system has to offer.

JustPlainLucas
JustPlainLucas like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 2 Like

@grove12345 Yeah, not saying this is worth buying a system for.  What I'm saying is you don't buy a system for just ONE game.  You buy it for several games in the library that appeal to you.
