From the developer that brought you Spectrobes comes an innovative RPG that is one of Square Enix's finest games ever!

User Rating: 9 | Subarashiki Kono Sekai: It's A Wonderful World DS
The World Ends With You is a game published by Square Enix but was made by Jupiter, the developers behind Pokémon Pinball and Pokémon's newest rival, Spectrobes. The game is completely different from both franchises as well as Square Enix's existing ones, with a unique style, innovative battle system, and a wonderful story.

Graphics: The style that Jupiter chose for T.W.E.W.Y. is very unique and different from other games they and S.E. have made in the past. It feels like an impersonation of modern day Tokyo. It's very good looking 2D with no 3D existing and all the characters animate smoothly, with amazing character art (which is kind of like Spectrobes, with it's no movement in lips but sudden shifts in character animation). Some of the best graphics the DS has to offer, regardless of whether you prefer 2D or 3D so far.

9.5/10

Sound: The sound effects are good, but not spectacular by any means. As for sound, the game has a ton of music in the game and all the tunes are catchy, memorable, and very well put together. They compliment the music and art style that Jupiter portrayed the game with a ton to support it. A few songs can get a little irritating after a while, but overall, well done.

9/10

Difficulty: The difficulty of the game's battle system varies, because
of the multiple levels from Easy to Ultimate. No matter which one you choose, if you have never played this game or haven't played in a while, it will take a while to get used to controls.

Gameplay: There is so much crammed into this game. The main thing is the battle system. It uses the top screen for your characters partner, which each play differently, and the touch screen has you control Neku. To beat the Noise (The main enemies in the game), you must fight with both characters on both screens. You and your partner share a health bar, so if Skiki (one of your partners) loses alot of health, it will show on Neku's screen in the combined health bar. Likewise, fighting the noise on one screen damages the one on the other screen. It's done really well and the way both have to fight is excellent. Neku fights with pins, which each have a different attack, like blowing in the microphone or drawing a circle, level up and evolve and experimenting and finding out how each evolves is a ton of fun. There's so much crammed into this game, like a 24 hour food system, the Tin Pin Slammer minigame, the trends,it's impossible to go in-depth over everything, but the battle system alone makes it astounding and is enough to talk about for hours. Extremely well done, some of the best gameplay ever.

10/10

Overall: With few elements borrowed from any other titles besides the character interaction from Spectrobes (which strangely enough reminds me of the character interaction in Fire Emblem, except in Fire Emblem they move their lips) and it's sequel: Beyond The Portal, which was released the same year, 2008, T.W.E.W.Y is one of the best games the DS has to offer. With so much crammed into one game, it's easily Jupiter's finest and most innovative game ever.
