Another great game in the realm of really long but not-so-polished fantasy rpgs

Im reviewing this game with am emphasis on gameplay, not particlarly the story or the way the writing is composed. The storytelling and decision making are no doubt the greatest aspect of this game, which also make it a really long title to finish. But the gameplay aspects really dont work well with the way the story is drawn out. Ive ran into numerous bugs and gameplay issues that made the game overall less interesting to follow in the first weeks since the release, and none of these seem to have been addressed yet. Bugs like, for some reason my horse seems to float 8 feet above the surface of the level during a race, which i end up losing, or when gerard runs away from battle he seems to stop abruptly, or suddently putting his sword away and fighting with fists, or sometimes during the boss fight, the enemy will just stand there and allow you to cast spells dealing a bit of damage for a half hour or so. These are all little things that will probably continue to occur throughout the game that tend to annoy a casual gamer not inclined to spend a lot of time on rpg's. Understandably, for such a massive game, there are going to be issues, but it feels like the developers chose to address things like having an extensive magic-type card game or a completete crafting system instead of working on a smoother and funner gameplay. So this is why its a good game, but in the eyes of someone who only has an hour or so to enjoy a game everyday, its not really that good. Aside from gameplay issues, the game purposely tries to carry a grimy mature adult theme and rating, which is the main target audience, yet sometimes it still feels like watching a harry potter movie. It would be great to have less silly content like that.
