CRC Error FIX

The error is a problem with some dvd drives being unable to read the DATA2.CAB file on Disc 1.

Copy all the files from disc 1 EXCEPT the DATA2.CAB file directly from the disc onto your pc. Copy the DATA2.CAB file the same way except onto a different pc or laptop or external drive that is able to do so. Then either wired with a USB cable or Wirelessly through LAN/HOMEGROUP copy that DATA2 file from the secondary one onto your pc. Run Setup.exe and it should then be able to install successfully after that. Disc 2 doesn't have the same problems and when prompted you can insert the disc and install normally.

Don't waste your money buying a new dvd drive or digital copy of the game if you can do this, it will work.

Hey, I followed what you have said about the Witcher 2 CRC error, it finished installing the first disc when I copied and pasted the files into a folder on my desktop like you said, and all went smoothly, but when it asks for disc two and I insert it, it just says that it "cannot find the specified path" and "please insert a disc that has the data3.cab file." Any ideas on what I may do? Thanks.
