A great game for fans of the movie and fighting games. They don't get much better than this folks!

It seems like forever since Rockstar announced there release of the game (based on the cult classic) "The Warriors". Well now it's finally out and you are not likely to find a better, more fun beat em' up. For people that know the movie, they know that the movie more or less starts when Syrus (leader of the biggest gang in New York) is shot, and from there The Warriors must make there way back to Coney Island. In the game, it actually starts several months before the meeting, we learn how The Warriors came to be and everything leading up to the fated night. The game is simple enough, beat people up so on and so forth. But there is a suprising amount of depth to the game, everything from earning money to squad controls. I can almost guarntee there isn't a beat em up as good as this one on current generation consoles.
The game's graphics are dissapointing. It's not that they are horrible or anything like that, they are just pretty average. Some of the textures are pretty muddy and most things besides the character models are pretty blocky. But there are some nice effects, as you use someone as your punching bag, there face becomes noticably cut and puffed up, which is pretty cool. There is also the spatter of blood as you beat on them.
The sound is quite a bit better than the graphics, nice punching effects and a very solid soundtrack. You can feel the game's atmosphere through it's sound alone.
If you are looking for a fun beat em' up and you are feeling like there is nothing good on the market, don't think twice and pick this one up tomorrow.
