I don't get why the disc version is $29.99.

What's special about that version? Doing the season pass is only $20. When the final episode is released, will the season pass still be available? I haven't played any yet.

Because not everyone has access to the digital version. That's pretty much the whole point of releasing those disc versions.

It's $5 more primarily because manufacturing the discs costs more money than releasing it digitally. Although they've added a few bonuses in their past disc releases, so there might be something extra here too.

I purchased the season pass and have the episodes stored on my hard drive. I also plan on purchasing the physical copy too as the PS3 has it's share of breakdown issues, also because I don't know how long the PSN will be around in it's current form and if I will be able to download those episode again in 10 years time, or even 2.

I don't know why the physical copy is more expensive, but being able to have it available to me years down the line is worth the extra price of admission.

The reason is quite simple really, disc copy costs more to actually make and because with the physical copy you actually own it. Digital games can be taken away at any point (iirc from the terms of service) and aren't actually owned by you. I prefer digital copies myself because then i DO own it and also because of this the collector in me.
