honestly I think humanity is screwed, if any of the groups we have seen/experienced offer a hint of reality in this "parallel dimension of reality". People are dying off and aren't having babies. And I mean massive die off, and I have no clue if babies aren't born as zombies are not since everyone is infected.
Short of the new generation of children being born immune or greatly resistant due to some early on womb exposure/adaption, humanity is utterly utterly screwed. Governments/groups everywhere have failed to contain this or manage it at all.
The only other comparison we have here is the new flesh trilogy style zombies which appear to be the same , except that version grants people immunity to cancer and colds. Also enough time has passed by the end 20-30 years that people have adapted to the virus somewhat. But in that series things never spiraled out of control(I dunno maybe half the people died before it got under control)(seems like in walking dead only 1% of the population tops is alive)(no one apparently has guns or brains or saw any zombie movies prior to the out break) to the extent it has in this Universe, every damn town and city appears to be dead.
It requires constant checking, and sleeping alone in locked rooms, and living under monitoring, that way you can check if anyone died during the night, people I guess didn't realize and adapt to that until too late, all systems have broken down and zombie hordes wander the country side destroying any group that tries to form up. It's utter chaos and I have trouble believing if this type of zombi ism occurred in real life it would reach this point. Is it that hard to realize early on that everyone upon death turns, to take precautions, establish perimeters/safe zones, and mow down all the large hordes of zombies so people don't get zerged? is it really?
Yeah I thought about all of this almost word for word how you did and came to the conclusion humanity can't be that stupid to allow something like that to go that far. I mean at the very least you would see SWAT guys running around in full body armor or something long before it could even get near the level of RE's style "lets nuke this city" - Oct 14, 2012 11:37 pm GMTI raged, hard, it was so ****ing sad and didn't know what the hell to do, I pretty much have been playing as I would have done in real life and god dammit I would've run to get the damn hat instead of checking the bin completely, my emotions got the best of me (yeah yeah, I know it doesn't make a difference since you find nothing when checking the dumpster, but all the same)
now I know lee won't have a happy ending :S, I hope he goes in a nuclear explosion of badassery killing a bunch of zombies in a mega heroic way ala rambo, but I know that won't happen, which makes me sad - Oct 15, 2012 4:50 pm GMTI feel the governments, especially after watching the series episode where they meet the scientist, spent too much time and resources trying to find a cure/vaccine off the bat instead of first securing the situation. Then finding a cure after things were stable.

Legend of Grandia - Oct 15, 2012 4:52 pm GMThave trouble believing tanks , riot shields and machine guns could not fortify any positions at all and towns could not be cleared..
the zombies dont bite rediculously hard for the most part either.. some body armor and you could reduce infection rates by buttload, and it isnt instant zombification either, its pretty slow acting from a bite.

Gadwin's secret Move Dragon King Slice!!-Justin
Legend of Grandia - Oct 16, 2012 4:38 am GMTI don't think there's going to be a life-saving amputation next episode. In the comic books, such a drastic act had to happen FAST and the conversation time in the game seemed like too much time for tainted blood to pump. And there's also the issue of limited medical supplies and lack of medical know-how to help Lee survive the ordeal.
Clem doing Lee in seems beyond fitting at this point. He's been her role model and taught her skills - and she's demonstrated that she's a good shot - but she hasn't crossed the threshold Lee did before the outbreak: killing another human being. If she can do that to someone she dearly loves, I think her ability to survive scumbags and walkers goes up significantly.
A death hasn't moved me like this since RED DEAD REDEMPTION. Because, yes, Lee is pretty much the WALKING DEAD at this point. It's just a question of where his final steps take him. - Oct 17, 2012 12:42 pm GMTI think it'll all be to do with how many people you've got in your team in the next episode. The more relationships you've developed, the better the chance of Clem's survival.
If you've got everyone, the chance of Clem living is strong (Perhaps even Lee lives somehow) If you've only got 3 people in your group there's a strong chance Clem will live, but Lee will definitely die.
If you've only got two people, you can save Clem with some work and Lee definitely dies.
If you've only got the one person in your team you probably can save Clem but it will be hard and Lee definitely die.
If it's just Lee, Clem definitely dies and so does Lee. It'll be your punishment for not building relationships and/or not telling everyone about the bite.
If this is the case then I'm golden!
- Oct 17, 2012 1:01 pm GMTI disagree. I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that they would cop out with something like that. I think every other possible end is better than that one. It just isn't fair at all. You hide the bite on an impulse, you can't save Clem? That just doesn't seem like something that would happen.
- Oct 17, 2012 1:04 pm GMTAnd, (excuse me for the double posting,) I highly doubt that Clem would die. It just doesn't seem like something that would happen. I promise you, if Clem were to die, some people would tear up and scream at TTGames and they would hate them so much. I'm not kidding, at all. And if so, I think it should be based on skill, not how many people you have in your team. That's just really lame.

Ah but if Clem dies at first for the player but he/she KNOWS that Clem CAN live (Possibly by the end game statistics) it'll give them more incentive to replay and do all they can to save their little girl. It's genius really. Separating those who genuinely love Clem from those who couldn't care (That may sound harsh but it's the truth).
You say the player would be punished for an impulse decision, well yes they would. BUT possibly during the episode they'd have ANOTHER chance to reveal the bite, hopefully realising how incredibly crucial the decision is. Or perhaps Clem still can be saved. It'll just be more difficult but the positive will be that whoever is waiting at the boat will live at the end. Just more speculation.
And remember, I'm just throwing my two cents (Insert Larry pun) in. I could be and probably am wrong. The endings probably will be very different for each player, my ideas are just like an infrastructure for a load of different endings. They could merely be requirements for radically different conclusions.
You also say it should be based on skill. Not in my opinion. There's no skill involved in the walking dead. It's all about the decisions you make, not your ability at zombie brain bashing.
Plus, the whole dynamic of The Walking Dead is about building relationships. If you don't do this your chances of survival are slim as working together is vital. If the player doesn't do this they will be punished in that they are alone for the final stretch, still with a chance of survival mind you. - Oct 23, 2012 8:07 am GMTHas anyone played Yakuza: Dead Souls here?
You may remember the whole thing with Goro Majima being bitten and how it ended... :p

Does Hydlide really count as a game? I thought it was supposed to be some kind of torture session. --Tocawe - Oct 24, 2012 5:54 pm GMTtheslacker24 posted...
One thing I hate about this series is first they say it's the bite that turns you, and then all of the sudden they claim you come back no matter what, and we've seen both things happen. If you're already infected no matter what it doesn't make since that a bite would make you turn unless the bite s bad enough to kill you. A small bite on the hand shouldn't turn characters any faster if everyone is already infected
You can consider a zombie bite to a bite of a Komodo Dragon. There is probably so much bacteria from the rotting decay in the zombie's mouth that if it bits you the bacteria will move onto you. It will slowly kill you as you develop illness and succumb to it. It ain't the bite that turns people into zombies, more likely that the infectious bite kills you first than you return as one of them.

To be fair, Komodo monitor lizards are also slightly poisonous, not just horrifically infective. But yeah, if untreated, a Komodo bite has a 100% mortality rate even among humans. There's that much infective crap in their mouths - something like 60+ different varieties of bacteria ranging from simple ones to flesh-eating ones.
Scientists would give an arm and a leg to figure out how Komodos are immune to their own lethal oral bacterial fauna - it could have important medicinal uses. But it's not that easy to do.

"Best to be single and live all alone
Than to be married, and nagged by a crone" - Nov 13, 2012 7:03 pm GMTI think the player will have two major choices: who Clem allies/trusts/goes with and how Lee dies.
For the first, we will all get to choose between Kenny and Christa and Omid for Clem to latch onto. Kenny will be the tough, cold survival at all odds guy who will see Clem as his own kid. Christa and Omid will be more of the kinder and warmer side of humanity, while also still being good at living. Plus Christa is heavily implied to be pregnant, so her having a "daughter" will help them along beforehand.
Secondly, Lee will have to choose how it ends. Will he let Clem finish him off and put him out of his misery (similar to Duck). Will Clem not be able to do it? Or will Lee allow himself to finish him off?
As for season 2, I hope it will be following a current main character. The comics and show do this well in that whatever happens, we will always follow the group's story. Despite all of the deaths, disappearances, defections, it always is following Rick's group. So I hope we have a character that is part of Lee's group, most likely Clem.
