Well it took 2 months but part two is finally here. This is how I felt after playing it...

I've been eagerly awaiting this game for two months, even often googling to try to find a release date. Well I finally got it and finally played it.

Unlike the first game I played it from beginning to end without a break. I think doing so made me realize just how short it actually is, after 3-4 hours I was done. I have to admit something I waited two months for and then beating it in three hours left me a little disappointed.

The story for this game is different than the first....it takes place three months later but much hasn't changed. I found the first game felt like a survival/horror game where you were never quite sure when you might get attacked by zombies, this game seems to have fallen into more of a mystery game. The threat of zombies is still real but our survivors seemed to have started adapting with this new world. There was a lot let zombies in this game instead the new treat is the humans that now inhabit a lawless world.

I don't really want to get into the story at all and ruin it for anyone, but this one does deal with a lot less zombie action, but more character interaction. Right away you'll notice a lot of the choices and relationships you made in the first game have affected your relationships with people in this game. There is no way to really stay everyones friends. There are fractures in the group and you must decide who you'll support. Trying to stay neutral just seems to cost you respect from both sides.

The game is just as good as the first game, but I did find the story path and where it was leading to quite predictable. I saw it coming a mile away. The mystery was really no mystery at all.

The hardest part of this game for me is that it felt so anti-climatic. Waiting two months for a game I beat in three hours made me feel unsatisfied. It was an enjoyable three hours, but when the realization that it's going to be another 2-3 months for episode three it really makes you feel discouraged. When you add up that there are 5 episodes it'll be almost a year before this thing is complete.....that in itself is a painful thought.

I gave it an 8 simply based on the fact that I felt the game was predictable(but enjoyable) the character interaction and interpersonal relationship stuff is great. The game was less tense than episode 1. Also the fact that there is a 2-3 month wait between episodes for a game that only last a few hours.. for me hurts the gaming experience. I would almost advise people to wait until the whole thing is done and then purchase it.

Still I believe that this is a game that should be played and I eagerly await episode three. See you in two months.
