In an attempt to work with some great source material and provide a unique style of art and gaming, this is a fair entry

A few things drew me into this game. First, the comments made by others. Second, being interested in something a little different. Third, just coming off of playing the Testament of Sherlock Holmes. Fourth, I love the television show. Though I haven't read the comics it is clear that this game sets out in similar inspiration with a goal of also developing a good narrative and quality characters.

Initially, there are two things that stick out in this entry. First, the focus is not on creating "reality perfect" graphics. Second, the goal to provide deep character development. Both of these done well as they have been points the game, and series, in the right direction.

As a game, this one falls in line with older adventure games but also new entries such as Heavy Rain. That is, the focus is more on the story with some non-traditional game play style. Well, it should be said that it is not as deeply adventuresome as some older games such as King's Quest or the like. At least at this point the focus seems clearly on telling the story in an interactive and creative style.

Some may balk that more conventional game play methods are absent from this game. However, for me, it is nice to see developers taking some risks to do some things different than the fare we often see get popular these days. What's more, it's nice that they get the opportunity to use their methods with a television and comic series that are so wildly popular. This says something and if it was any other series it might not go over as well. I'm thankful for the balance between using what is popular with taking the risk to do something a little different with the game play style.

I would hope that in the next episodes there are more puzzle elements and a little bit more challenging game play. If all the series winds up is an interactive comic I'll be a little disappointed. Games like Sherlock Holmes really provide some stiff puzzle content which makes this style of adventure stand out a bit more as a true game.

What is nice is the well done story does draw you in and makes it hard to want to put down. I also love that this did it in episodic style so you can play the game in bite size chunks. This is good for someone who is busy with work and family.

If you're a fan of the series definitely take a look. If you only like playing FPS games I'd say you'll be a bit disappointed.
