Frame rate issues and stuttering really kill an amazing game and drop my score from 9 to a 7...........

User Rating: 7 | The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series PS3

I recently bought this game at Gamestop. I downloaded the first episode free from PSN and really enjoyed it so I went out and got the full game.

Graphics: The art style and look resembles the Walking Dead comic book. It looks pretty good and I prefer this rather than going for a more realistic or even unique look other than what it should look like in the books.

Audio: It's ok. The voice acting is fine for the most part, nothing remarkable and the music isn't much more than you'd expect after watching the AMC Walking Dead show.

Gameplay: This is your standard Telltale game. It's more of a point and click adventure that occasionally makes you aim a gun or button mash. I don't mind this because the whole point of this game is the story and the decisions you make which adapt and move the story forward. This works really well. Every choice you pick has its consequences and will make or break relationships with other characters. Some things don't change much with each decision but some characters will live, some will die depending on what you do. Some characters are likable, some you will hate and often times you have to chose sides to help resolve disputes and pressing matters.

Story: This game has, in my opinion, an amazing story. Lee, the main character is very likable. Clementine is a small girl who is surviving alone in her tree house when Lee discovers her. They join together and build a great father-daughter bond throughout the game. As time goes on I really picked my answers and choices with Clementine in mind and you will genuinely care about her as time goes on. I won't give much away, but each episode gets better and better.

Why my rating is a 7 instead of a 9:
The frame rate is atrocious. The game stutters often and when there is a lot going on it gets unbearable and very distracting, almost ruining the entire experience. Sometimes the screen freezes but the audio resumes and the mouths are off with the dialogue. All in all if you have a PC I'd recommend getting it for PC or getting the digital downloads because the disc version is just a problem.

If this game were to run smoothly or even just run well, it'd be a 9 rating for me. I look forward to getting season 2 but I hope these frame rate issues get resolved.
