Doom for me started many years ago... and I still play it to this very day. With all the new ports and enhanced graphics, Doom will always be Doom. The Ultimate Doom is my personal favourite for the series, as it is the classic that started it all, with the new episode included with it.

The graphics are stunning, given the time it was made, and I'm always amazed when I fire-up this game. The sound quality is awesome and the gameplay is unparalleled, in my opinion, being slightly repetitive... but done in the 'right' way

The only drawback for me, is the modern issue for Doom, compatibility on newer systems. There are many Source Ports out there to fix this issue... but I enjoy the classic look and feel of the original Doom, with no added bells or whistles. My personal fix for that, was the discovery of 'Chocolate Doom'... a port that aims to recreate the original, exactly as it should be. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for the original in all its weight and glory.
