An amazing must-buy re-mastered game, lovely graphics and great humour! A great tribute to all platformers!!!

User Rating: 10 | The Sly Trilogy PS3
The Sly series is like a bag of shiny loot, along with the Jak and Daxter plus Rachet and Clank it is one of three of the best platformer series of its time. Along awaited debut to the PS3 with a great price too!

This is a collection of 3 games that were originally on the PS2; Sly Raccoon - This is Sly's first debut to the PS2 in 2002. At the age of eight Sly was meant to inherit his family's heirloom The Thievieus Raccoonus, a book filled with all his family's master thief burgling techniques. But on the night he was meant to inherit the book, the Fiendish Five broke into his house killed Slys' father and stole the book. They split into five pieces amongst themselves and traveled to all four corners of the world to commit terrible crimes. Sly Raccoon has a great storyline, but the graphics and HP system are a tad outdated. The game is relatively easy to play through but rather short, the experience is great while it lasts. In the re-mastered collection the choppy-ness in 3rd level has been sorted out and the framerate is much smoother however the boss battle with Mz. Ruby is out of synch. This game takes about 6-8 hours to complete. Overall a great, fun game!

Sly 2 Band Of Thieves - Set two years after the first game, Sly and the gang have to steal and destroy the clockwerk parts. But the Klaww gang have beaten them to it, so Sly and the gang have to go on another adventure to places all over the globe to steal them back so Clockwerk can never awaken again. Sly 2 has many changes from it's predecessor Sly Raccoon, it has open environments, gadgets you can buy, a health bar instead of the one hit death, infinite continues, missions, better combat and pick pocketing! Unlike its predecessor Bentley and Murray are playable, Murray is much stronger and can take enemies out in 2-6 blows. Whilst Bentley is more cloak and dagger and has a tranquiliser gun which can knock out enemies from a distance then sneak in and place a small bomb on the guard to kill them. The graphics are much smoother than in Sly Raccoon and the load time is very short. The game has a brilliant story-line with loads of jokes and humour thrown in for good measure. The game environments are lacking and only have 3 collectables per level. But aside from that this game is a great improvement from the first being longer and harder and a wonderful asset to the series and has been re-mastered beautifully.

Sly 3 Honour Among Thieves - Sly and the gang are back and this time to reclaim Sly's family fortune in daring heist to get inside the Cooper vault which is heavily guarded by Dr.M. A madman who's been trying to get inside it for many years going crazier with each year. After being disabled by Clock - La in Sly 2 Bentley is confined to a wheel chair, Murray who blames himself leaves the gang who are left trying to regain a friend and member of their gang. The gameplay isthe same as Sly 2 but has some extras: New charged attacks for sly, new gadgets, new playable characters, first-person mission, and more better vehicle missions such as driving a giant truck and flying biplanes! The clue bottle concept is gone and so are the collectables. This has been re-mastered greatly by Sanzaru with better fire and water effects.

There are some mini-games which are unlocked as you beat the other three games, they are well made but are boring after a while. There is a surprise for those who are patient enough to get all three platinum trophies too...

Overall this is an AMAZING collection, which looks great in HD and looks even better for those who happen to own a 3D television! Great value at an average of £27 or under £10 each on SEN. These games are perfect for adults and children alike and will steal your time away no matter how many times you play them.

Look out for Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time the latest installment in the series due for release this year!
