I was hoping that the Sims 3 featured a massive graphical upgrade / drastic new style (because it looks almost exactly like The Sims 2...which was 4.5 years ago). Oh well, the fact that you can wander around the town w/o hitting a load screen is a BIG BONUS

Ben Bell shows off The Sims 3 at GDC 2009.
I can't believe after all this Sims still can't put a fire out by themselves...still looking forward to the game though
Really promises to be a good game.Who cares about the extra cost, its optional. And you can still download them from internet(For example The Sims Resource). So you don't really need to pay anything extra. And yeah, whats up with novelists?
Very cool may have to get to keep me entertained while on road trips on my new kick ass laptop I'm getting :D
Seems the only reason for the pushback is to allow them time to fix their problems and make sure the game works properly at launch. Which for EA is a completely new approach, as no Maxis developed release before has ever been allowed to be completely finished before release. They're just afraid to release another broken flop like Spore (yeah, the creature creator in Spore is cool, but it has next-to-no gameplay). Note about Sims 3: Nearly all objects from Sims 2 are recycled, as well as all the associated animations. Difference is you can repaint them (almost) as you wish, and turn them at 45 degree angles. Stick it all in the Spore 3D engine, add some improved AI and customization tools, and that's basically what Sims 3 is. Don't get me wrong, I love Sims, but it seems like Sims 3 won't have as huge of a fundamental change to the game as Sims 2 had over the original Sims. Although the Sims created with the game now look a lot better than when they first announced it.
First it was said to be released in March and then when the date came, SURPRISE!! Its in June. I really hope that when June 2 comes, It stays. Because I am a really big fan of the sims and I can't wait for the 3rd sequel.
here is the sim 3 system Repuirements The official "The Sims 3" minimum system requirements are available and are as follows: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent 1 GB RAM with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least: Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA X3000 or above. 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent 0.5 GB additional RAM At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 Windows Vista Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent 1.5 GB RAM At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content 128 MB Video Card
its coming to Windows and MAC but if you look closely to the game cover it looks like it says Windows and MAC
they pushed it back till june for two reasons: 1) to allow more time to go by and so that they should show it at a variety a events (like the GDC), and get other marking tie ins (something with the TV station the CW) . . . and 2) to resolve what they were going to do with EA's DRM system (what came out with Spore). They recently released info that it's NOW going to be DRM free and just need a code to activate once (like thesims2), as for marketing . . . remains to be seen.
As everyone as already mentioned, same information played over and over and over. Just stop interviewing about it, stop talking about it, and just release it already. That's my idea.
Man they dont have any new info, Ben Bell has said this whole speech over and over again, i bet he's sick of talking about it. and in this video he didnt seam at all excited as he has been in previous videos. why the hell did they have to push it back to june from february talk about extreme, why not till like march or latest of april.. by the time it comes out every1 will be so sick of waiting for it they wont even be that bothered..
It seems the push back was pretty pointless doesnt it? Like the rest of you have said no new information so that makes me wounder if theres anything their putting in the game or if their just using the extended time to over hype their game and maybe hike game sells a bit??
Same old information that most of us already knew. I wish they would show us a name gameplay video already... I'd rather have a gameplay video than hearing the same things over and over again.
same features over and over again..i swear to god if this trait feature isnt as good as they say it is i want my money back
