Not quite up there with the PC versions but this version is decent enough.

When you think PC you think Sims. When you think DS you think.....something else. There have been sims games on the DS in the past but they were lacking things and they didn't have enough freedom, now EA has removed those pesky barriers and made things better. The sims 3 is all about getting your sim through life, getting a job, a wife, some kids, a car maybe, loads of money (simoleons) and make sure they have a happy life. You have to make sure they don't have any needs and to help you along the way there are mood bars on the top screen to see how hungry, dirty, tired, stressed and lonely your sim is and you also need to see when they need to nip to the toilet every now and then. Customization is simple but trimmed down a bit. You can't alter the colours of you shoes, pants or shirts like in the PC versions, you can't make your own shirt or anything like that and you only have a few options to choose from. You do have different skin tonnes like green and red (???) When your done with that you can pick your sims traits but this time around your only allowed 4 and there aren't many to choose from. Then you can choose your lifetime wish like catching 13 different types of fish, marrying a wealthy sim, having more than 20 friends and many more. Now you will have to find a lot to live in, you can choose if you want to start from scratch, have the house with no objects in or don't change anything about it. There are a few lots to pick from so choose wiseley. You can live your life any way. You can live like a slob, try your best in life, become a sneaky, violent character, steal from other sims (if you have the kleptomaniac trait) or just be a normal sim with a dull life but it makes up for it since you can't die in this version. The visuals this time around are a bit rubbish but they are OK.
The music is catchy and funky, there are only 3 songs you can play via the stereo and they are pop, classic and club.
There are a lot of locations this time around like the haunted house, the gym, the bistro, the diner, the dance club that never stops playing music and a load more. There are also these things called moodlets which pop up every time you have had a moment like a good meal, a cold shower, the time you were scared or just a time when you humiliated yourself. These are really helpful and it can become difficult
to collect them all. You can only have 2 sims in a house but you can have as many as you want during a party which was a nice feature. There is only 1 pet and that's a fish. It doesn't die or do anything it just sits there so if you want pets in your sims game then get The sims 3 pets on the 3DS PC, Xbox 360, PS3 or Macintosh computers. You can even select your work tonne at work, like work hard, slack off, sleep in the locker room or chat with a partner. You don't actually OWN a car in this but that depends on how much money you have. If you have a good job and lots of money you will get a snazzy sports car or even a limo but if you have $0-$500 then you will ride around in a dull taxi cab. There aren't as many jobs in this version but it's not that big of a deal. You can also unlock karma powers to take advantage on other sims like becoming there worst enemy, gaining or losing cash, becoming a romantic intrest with a sim in a few seconds and a couple more. Overall I think The Sims 3 on the Nintendo DS is a good installment and if you see it for $20 in target or something you should snap it up right away.
