And now for something completely different....

User Rating: 8.3 | The Sims 2 DS
It's been less rhan a year since the first sims game for ds, the urbz, came out. I mildly enjoyed the game, although they half-assed it.
But this time around, they didn't port it from the GBA, they actually built it from the ground up and utilized the DS technology very well, making this a unique, addictive title that will hold you over until animal crossing.
First off, don't expect this to be anything similar to the pc, or even the consoles. You can't build rooms, only redecorate them, the character interaction is a bit shallow, and your sim's needs aren't represented well. But, you can draw and hang up paintings, make your own music, play some fun minigames with the touch screen and microphone (theres even a little version of space invaders in the game), and multiplayer support. So its a bit flawed, but will nonetheless amuse and entertain hardcore and casual gamers alike, which is the balance animal crossing achieved so well. Of course its no animal crossing, but then again, what is?
The games graphics are decent, the sound is crisp from the bg music down to the simmish speech, and the game offers lots of things to do making this a pretty sweet package overall. I'm not going to say its a must-buy, but all's I can say is that if you enjoy a fun romp similar to animal crossing, than this game's for you.
