The sims 2 on the ds is great little game that captures a small amount of the sims experience.

Gameplay 7/10
In the sims 2 on ds you are a sim who finds himeslf or herself in a town called strangetown, once you arrive the mechanic tells you to stay the might at the local hotel, however once you reach siad hotel it's a complete mess theres dirt everywhere and the lights are out so now the mayor wants YOU to manage the hotel and bring outsiders into strangetown and in effect bring the town back to it's former glory. The gameplay is pretty simple you'll spend your time gahering items, cleaning the hotel, and getting building contract's so you can add new rrooms in the hotel such as a penthouse and casino. There is one part of hameplay tha is most intresting and that is helping people with there emotions, for instance you may see smeone who seems a little down and out so you must ac as there personal therapist and console them. Ovrall the gameplay is solid though it coud have used a little more in the way of extra activities but all in all a solid gameplay experience.

Graphics 8/10
I was really impressed by the 3D in the sims 2 and also the nice look of the outdoor area's.But the town is very small and again the game fails to give you much to do aside from tend to the hotel and the fact that in a breif 45 minute play you can do all the things needed to do in the hotel.

Sound 7/10
Solid overall the sims talk in there strange language and there's a nice light soundtrack. But not much more then that.

Value 8/10
There's a fair amount of gameplay here and it's a game that needs to be tended to every day so overall the time spent with the game depends on how long you stay intrested in the game.

The good
The sims works just fine on the ds,emotions system is fun and provides some entertainment, nice looking graphics.

The bad
Lacks in pasttime activities, takes only 45 minutes to get the hotel chores done, vacuming the hotel is NOT cool.
