Once you get past the abysmal loading times, The Sims 2 Pets offers a deep, fun and rewarding experience.

User Rating: 7.5 | The Sims 2: Pets PSP
The Sims 2 Pets was ported to the PSP, but with abysmal loading times. It takes probably three minutes to load into the game. But once you get in the game and take control of your Sim, all the loading problems seem to disappear.

There is a nice menu, cheery music, and crispy clean graphics. If only the load times were a bit shorter, though...

PRESENTATION: 7/10

The Sims 2 Pets is a fluid, crisp, clean game. It's got good character models, and bright, clean environments. Looks very nice on the PSP.

GRAPHICS: 8/10

The game plays very good with some simple controls and easy-to-learn basics. If you never played a Sims game before, it will be so easy to learn how to play with the simple control scheme. The only fault here is the terribly long load times.

GAMEPLAY: 7.5/10

Cheery, catchy music that fits the game perfectly. Funny Sim noises and nice pet sounds.

SOUND: 8/10

The game will last you a long time, but after a while taking care of your Sims and their pets can get a little boring.

LASTING APPEAL: 7.5/10

The Sims 2 Pets is a very fun game, only degraded by its small, missing features (like the ability to make your house bigger, or maybe I haven't gotten there yet) and the load times. If you can stand these things like I can, this game is a very enjoyable and fun experience.
