Don't take skateboarding tips from this game, virtual or not.

Skateboarding is a pretty good thing to do in your spare time. Watching The Simpson is a great thing to do too. But 'The Simpsons Skateboarding'? Skateboarding, even virtual skateboarding, gets WAY better than this.

In this game, the whole Simpsons family and some other random contestants enter the Annual Skate Tour for a shot at the $30 Grand Prize.

There is a range of different areas to skate around in, like Mr Burns' Mansion and Springfield Gorge. In each level, there are three game modes: Skillz School (a set if tasks to learn, six in each), Skatefest (skate around an area completing a range of objectives) and Timed Trick Contest (rack up as many points as you can before time).

The overall gameplay is pretty appetizing. There are a lot of good-looking tricks to perform, like Nose Grab, Kickflip and Nose Slide.

However there are some problems. The graphics are pretty bad. I also felt there could be more multiplayer modes, although the ones included are great. Also, I can't seem to get out of Homer's Invert without bailing out. The main problem is that most, if not all, of the Skillz School combos are pretty hard to pull off unless you've had a lot of practice.

This game may impress some skateboarding and Simpsons fans, but if you want more advanced skateboarding features, get something else.
