The Simpsons Hit and Run will take you on a fun joyride, but with alot of bumps along the way.

User Rating: 7.5 | The Simpsons: Hit & Run PS2
The Simpsons Hit and Run is the first free roaming game based on the hit T.V series "The Simpsons".

You are given several choices of The Simpsons Characters to play as - Homer (twice), Bart, Apu, Lisa, and Marge. All of which take place in mostly different parts of Springfield, such as Downtown Springfield, and a Hollywood based Springfield in which you play as Lisa in. Each playable character also has their own car which you start of near. Homer has his Sedan, Marge with the Canunaro, Apu with his flashed up sports car, and Lisa with a environmentally frinedly electric car. The wierd thing with this is that none of the previous cars have roofs? strange?

Gameplay wise, the missions are very repetetive, all with the same drive to here, then do that, then get back over there sort of theme. It can get boring. Even more boring is when you have finished the game there are not enough side missions, and even after comleting all these side missions, exploring gets shallow and unexciting.

The AI of the fellow civilans is rather bizare, as when you kick (using the square button) them they get up, run away, and as soon as they come into contact with a solid surface, they seem to completally forget that you just assaulted them and they now just stand there staring bizzarley at you.

Graphics are absoulutally nothing to wow over. Even though the fact that The Simpsons is a animated T.V series, things go blury up close, and everything looks to square based with no curved surfces (this is the fact with neraly every building).

All in all, The Simpsons is worht a bit of fun for a while, but seems to rshed over the excitement of the first free roaming Simpsons based game and was dissapointing. Rent it first.
