A first on any handheld/console (NOT referring to the DVD Game), it does a mediocre job presenting itself.

User Rating: 7 | The Price is Right DS
I was at work and I was looking at the following week's releases and I noticed "The Price Is Right" for the Wii and the DS were releasing. And since I'm an avid fan of the show, I thought I would pick it up.

I picked it up at Gamestop for thirty dollars plus tax (you watch...it'll be 20 bucks within a month) and shall I say, "Was it worth it?" It turned out to be a mixed bag for me....so here I describe the pros and cons:

KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS I AM CRITIQUING THE NINTENDO DS VERSION, AND NOT THE Wii VERSION. THANK YOU!

PROS:

Has the actual theme music pinned down nicely.

Many of the sound effects from the show can be found here, also. (Yes, the yodeling is in this game!)

Has a variety of games, from Check-Out to Cliffhangers to 3 Strikes, it's enough to keep you interested and to provide moderate replay value.

The prizes are realistic.

The Showcase Showdown Wheel and Plinko is tastefully done in this game, amazingly. Check 'em out!

Most of all, No Drew Carey. Actually, no host except for the announcer, but I guess it gets the job done.

CONS:

I think the creators of this game got lazy towards the end because almost every pricing game (other than a car) doesn't feature a prize, instead it offers money (because this game has a scoring system which I really don't care for.)

The high amount of text. I'm not saying that to be lazy, but at some parts, particularly in the Showcases, there is no voice, instead scrolling text...which is partially annoying.

The computer's contestant names are always the same...and they are the same people over and over.

The pause times....when first starting up the game (the disclaimer at the beginning is very long and you can't skip it)...

When you win (or lose) the showcase, you start back at Contestants Row....no awesome aftermath of you winnning, it just brings you back to win again and again....boring.

There you have it. It's a good game, but hey, for a DS game it's as good as it's gonna get. Let's hope the PC Game will have slightly better improvements (and I won't pay a dime over 20 dollars for that game.) SOmeone let me know how the Wii version goes, please. Thanks!
