This might be an entry into "Games as Art" but although this might be art, it isn't a game

User Rating: 6 | The Path PC
The Path is clever, I give it that, but it has the feel of molasses and just about the same objective. You see, The Path doesn't go anywhere, but it does so very slowly.

I've played the game twice and the first time I followed the instruction and got a fail, because I had obeyed the rules. So I played it again, and here the flaws appear:

1) you have no map, there is one that pops up occasionally, but not when you want it, and it isn't always legible.
2) you have no clear objective, although playing it unsuccessfully once shows you that very clearly, it doesn't show what success really would entail.
3) you don't ... do anything. You ... go places and stuff happens and you can to some extent stop them happening but that would defeat the purpose.
4) you have to play through the same stuff repeatedly but ... there is no hint why (except for the purpose of completeness, which is just stupid for a game ... it turns entertainment into a chore).

Add to that that the game is buggy, the interface doesn't make much sense (you can't always run, but sometimes you can), and even if it is working it feels slow. Yes this isn't a game game but it is supposed to achieve something and ... I fail to see the point.

I'm glad i got this on special on steam and had a look at it, but I'm more glad that I didn't shell out the $10 it normally is.
