The Oregon Trail User Review

Have such great memories of this game as a kid in grade school.

Difficulty:
Just Right
Time Spent:
20 to 40 Hours
The Bottom Line:
"Old-school"
Gameplay: In Oregon Trail, The objective is to move a pioneer family from St. Louis, Missouri across the United States to Oregon with out dying. Mostly you are just sitting in your chair and watch the cart move along. Occationally you would come along a trader to trade with to keep your supplies up. You can also hunt for game in the wilderness if your food is low. There will be a target cursor and you can aim and shoot at animals and at the end you can collect your food. All in all this game can take a while and can get borning at times since about half the time you are just sitting there monotoring your supplies.

Graphics: The graphics are not bad even though they are just in 2-D. On the top half of the screen you would have your little cart moving around while on the bottom half of the screen will have a map with your progess in the game.

Sound: There is not much sound in this game accept for the faint gun shots and soundtracks but they are good.

Value: All in all this is a very good game with good replay value. I have many found memories playing this game as a kid in grade school when the class would go to the computer lab.
I give this game 8 out of 10.

  1. Rambo was driving the wagon and decided to stop and hunt some buffalo. After shooting about 15 of them, he realized he could only carry back a fraction of one.
